The Maine Wind Energy Conference, hosted by the University of Maine (UMaine), will include an offshore wind track on Jan. 25 at the Augusta Civic Center.
Speaker topics include the economics of offshore wind, path permitting issues, the results of a statewide public opinion survey and other issues essential to the development of the industry.
Habib J. Dagher, director of the Advanced Structures and Composites Center, will present an overview of the Maine Public Utilities Commission's request for proposals for long-term contracts for deepwater offshore wind pilot projects and of the UMaine-led DeepCwind Consortium's involvement in deepwater offshore wind energy technology development.
