Offshore Wind Measurement Campaign Concludes In Hong Kong

Renewable energy consultancy SgurrEnergy has concluded a one-year wind measurement campaign in Hong Kong using its Offshore Risk Quantification Analysis (ORQA) platform.

The project began in March 2012 and was carried out on behalf of The Hongkong Electric Co. Ltd. (HK Electric), which is looking to develop an offshore wind power project between 90 MW and 100 MW.

SgurrEnergy's ORQA monitoring platform uses the company's Galion LIDAR technology to capture wind data and also measures meteorological, environmental, wave and tidal conditions. Testing and certification company DNV KEMA has independently verified the data captured over the 12-month period.
