0

GE is sending a blade from its new 2.5-120 wind turbine on a tour across Germany. At 60 meters in length, the blade is traveling by heavy-load transport from Flensburg to its first nationwide commercial installation near Nurnberg, with a few stops along the way.

On June 24, the blade will be arriving in Berlin where, for one day, people will have the chance to view it in front of the Technical University (TU). Together with the TU, GE will organize a symposium and welcome guests such as Federal Minister for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety Peter Altmaier, as well as Prime Minister of Lower Saxony Stephan Weil, to discuss the future role of wind energy in Germany.

At the blade's next stop, another wind energy event will be held in Munich on June 27. The following day, the blade will travel on to its final destination in Nurnberg.
