Nova Scotia Community Wind Project Produces Power

Scotian Wind says its 6 MW community wind project, situated atop Nova Scotia's Martock Ridge, is producing electricity for the West Hants and Windsor distribution grid.

According to the developer, the wind farm is the culmination of several years of planning, consultation and collaboration with its partners and community stakeholders.

The wind farm is powered by three Vestas V100 wind turbines perched on 95-meter towers, and Nova Scotia Power has agreed to purchase the output for 20 years, under the province's community feed-in tariff program.
