Sen. Byron Dorgan, D-N.D., and Pierce County community leaders will join international energy executives and local families to dedicate North Dakota's newest wind power project on Oct. 12.

The Rugby Wind Power Project consists of 71 wind turbines with a total capacity of 149 MW. The project created 17 full-time jobs and generates approximately $2 million annually in landowner lease payments and property tax, according to Iberdrola Renewables.

Attendees scheduled to speak at the event include Dorgan; Tom Heller, CEO of Missouri River Energy Services; Duncan Koerbel, chief reliability officer at Suzlon Wind Energy Corp.; and Kevin Devlin, vice president of Iberdrola Renewables.
