Nordex Wins First French Order For N117/2400 Turbine

Nordex has received its first French order for its N117/2400 wind turbine from developer VSB Energies Nouvelles.

The Lazenay wind farm, located in the Department of Cher, France, will feature seven turbines. The site has lower wind speeds of around 6 m/sec, conditions for which Nordex says the N117/2400 is specially engineered.

Work on the 16.8 MW wind farm is slated to begin this year and be completed in early 2015. The purchase contract also includes a 15-year service agreement. In addition, the two parties plan to execute further wind farm projects together over the coming months.

"VSB is proud of being the first company to install Nordex N117/2400 turbines in France. It is our first contract with Nordex for France, where we intend to start a constructive collaboration together," says Emmanuel Macqueron, CEO of VSB Energies Nouvelles.
