Nordex SE will supply 12 N100/2500 turbines to Fair Wind Partners, a subsidiary of Exelon Wind, for a planned project in Garrett County, Md.
According to Nordex, the site in Garrett County is characterized by good wind speeds of over 8 m/s. Specially designed for such conditions, the turbines achieve an above-average capacity factor of 39%. In addition, the turbines are fitted with an additional package to accommodate what, at times, can be extremely low temperatures in this region.
The turbines for the production-tax-credit-eligible wind farm will be installed by September, Nordex notes, adding that it will provide premium service for the wind farm over 20 years.
