Nordex has secured a 57.6 MW order from PNE Wind AG to supply the Chransdorf wind farm in Germany. The turbine maker says the deal represents its largest individual German order to date.
Located in a wooded area some 100 km to the southeast of Berlin, the project will consist of 24 Nordex N117/2400 wind turbines. Nordex says it will install the turbines, which are particularly suited for low wind conditions, on 141-meter towers. The wind farm is due to go online in fall 2015.
"It is good to see that business in Germany remains strong after the new Renewable Energy Law entered into force in August," comments Lars Bondo Krogsgaard, a Nordex management board member. "We are very pleased to have been selected as supplier by PNE for one of the biggest projects in the market."
