Nordex has been awarded three contracts for wind farms with a total capacity of 45 MW in Turkey.
The manufacturer will install seven N117/3000 turbines close to the city of Izmir in Western Turkey for Ucgen Ruzgar Enerjisi Elektrik Uretim Anonim Sirketi. The Delta series turbine is the optimum fit for this IEC 2 site with average wind speeds of 8.5 m/s, according to Nordex.
The manufacturer will deliver four Delta wind turbines to Super Enerji for its initial foray into the wind industry. Super Enerji is a member of Super Group, which is active in textile, construction, tourism, geothermal and hydropower energy businesses.
REA Elektrik placed the third order, which calls for the delivery of five N117/2400 turbines for the Zincirli wind farm. Nordex says the turbines were chosen based on the low-wind conditions at the site.
To date, Nordex has installed nearly 1 GW in Turkey. As a result, the turbine maker holds around 23% of the Turkish market.
