Nordex has received an order from returning customer Erdem Holding to deliver turbines for a 48 MW wind farm in Turkey. The order also includes a premium-service contract for a minimum period of five years.
The Bagarasi wind farm is located in Aydin, close to the Aegan coast of Turkey. Nordex says the site has low mean annual wind speeds of 6.6 m/s, and the company will supply 20 of its N117/2400 turbines, which are specifically configured for such locations. The project is slated to begin operating in 2015.
Erdem Holding also recently ordered seven N117/3000 Generation Delta turbines for the Odemis wind farm, which is located close to the Bagarasi wind farm. With the completion of Bagarasi next year, Nordex says it will have installed more than 1.04 GW in Turkey.
