Nordex has received an order to supply Pennant Walters Ltd. with eight N90/2500 2.5 wind turbines for an extension to the Pant-y-Wal Wind Farm in the U.K.
Located close to the town of Bridgend in South Wales, the site is characterized by International Electrotechnical Commission 1 wind speeds, for which the N90/2500 strong-wind turbine has been designed.
In addition to the contract for the delivery of the turbines, which have a combined capacity of 20 MW, Pennant Walters has signed a 15-year premium service contract with Nordex. Pant-y-Wal Extension is scheduled to go into operations in March 2017.
With this project, the third wind farm for which Pennant Walters has ordered Nordex turbines, the developer will bring its total installed capacity of Nordex towers to 95 MW.
