The 110 MW Nordergrunde offshore wind farm, located 16 kilometers north of the German North Sea coast, has achieved financial close.
Developed by WPD AG, Nordergrunde will consist of 18 Senvion 6.2M126 wind turbine generators on monopile foundations.
According to SgurrEnergy, which provided due diligence to lenders KfW IPEX and the European Investment Bank, project construction will begin next April with commercial operations anticipated by 2017.
As the project enters the implementation phase, SgurrEnergy says it will continue to support the lenders, providing construction and operational monitoring services.
