NextEra Energy Resources has confirmed it is selling the 30 MW Montfort Energy Center to Wisconsin Energy Corp. for $27 million.
The 20-turbine wind farm, located near Dodgeville, Wisc., opened in 2001. The energy will be sold to Wisconsin Power & Light and We Energies, according to a company spokesperson.
Under state law, We Energies must generate about 8% of its electricity from renewable sources by 2015.
