NaturEner USA LLC has announced the commencement of operations for its NaturEner Operations Center, which will support projects by providing forecasting and scheduling services, and ancillary and reserve support, including capacity and transmission reservations. The center will also support site operations and maintenance activities for all of NaturEner's North American projects.
NaturEner currently owns and operates the 210 MW Glacier wind project in Montana and expects to begin construction of the Rim Rock wind project this year.
The Glacier project operates in real time by scheduling and trading energy within NaturEner Power Watch, the company's wind-only balancing authority.
‘Forming the NaturEner Operations Center is a step toward optimizing our projects and providing flexibility within an evolving market in the Northwest,’ says Jose M. Sanchez-Seara, CEO of NaturEner USA and NaturEner Energy Canada. ‘The NaturEner Operations Center will provide the necessary support required by the unique operating model of our Glacier project.’
