Vancouver, British Columbia-based NaiKun Wind Energy Group Inc. will hold open houses in North Coast communities in early October.
Community feedback, together with results from extensive environmental studies, will be included in NaiKun's application for an environmental assessment certificate (EAC), which will be submitted to the Environmental Assessment Office in early 2009. Further opportunities for community input will be provided in spring 2009 as part of the environmental assessment process.
‘NaiKun is holding these open houses to share information about the project and to get input and feedback from local communities,’ says Matt Burns, vice president of NaiKun. ‘Local input will help us improve our overall project design and support the development of our EAC.’
Open houses are being held in Port Edward, Prince Rupert, Masset and Skidegate. A brochure with information about the open houses will be delivered to local homes and businesses.
