NACEL Energy Corp. says it will participate as co-developer, with Crownbutte Wind Power Inc., in the 200 MW Gascoyne II wind project. Gascoyne II is located in North Dakota and extends over 1,733 acres on a ridgeline at elevations averaging 3,000 feet.
Site wind data has been recorded by two meteorological towers and used to determine net capacity factors (NCF) based upon GE's SLE 1.5 wind turbine, resulting in a 45% NCF (after all loss components subtracted), according to NACEL.
Earlier this month, NACEL advanced funds to the Midwest Independent Transmission System Operator to complete the feasibility study for the interconnection of the Gascoyne II project to the electric grid.
