Moventas has announced an agreement with Eesti Energia to service two WWD3 turbines at the Aulepa wind park in Western Estonia. Moventas says emerging failures were detected with its CMaS condition management system, installed in 2009, and on-site inspections.
The Aulepa project was opened in 2009 and has 16 turbines with a total capacity of 48 MW. Moventas says it will carry out a WinWind 3 gearbox change-out of the two affected turbines.
Moventas and Eesti Energia have also agreed on lubrication upgrades to Aulepa's entire fleet by year-end. The lubrication upgrade, which Moventas says prolongs turbine lifetime, is available to all WWD3 customers. It includes upgrading the entire gearbox lubrication system, installing extra pumps for the main bearings, changing the coolers and updating the lubrication management logic.
