Moventas, a wind gear manufacturer and service provider, says it has established a subsidiary in Italy to reinforce its presence and service portfolio in the country.
Moventas Italy will have a local service team with a wide range of service products and technical support. The subsidiary's service portfolio includes gearbox inspections, up-tower repair, spare parts, upgrades and overhaul.
The subsidiary is located close to Milan and run by Lorenzo Monaco, who has been with Moventas since 2012. Moventas Italy will also support customers in Greece, Turkey and Eastern Europe.
"The market in Italy, as well as in Europe, has changed significantly," says Monaco. "We believe our service approach that emphasizes prolonging older gearboxes' lives and reducing [operations and maintenance] costs is beneficial to the clientele in this area."
In addition to the Italian subsidiary, Moventas notes it has a Spanish unit in Madrid and a French unit in Bordeaux.
