Whitefield, N.H.-based Mountain View Grand Resort & Spa has earned recognition as a 100% green power purchaser as part of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Green Power Partnership program.
A major component of Mountain View Grand's commitment to use green energy came online this past fall with the installation of a 121-foot wind turbine from Northern Power Systems. The turbine, which was privately funded, offsets a substantial portion of the resort's current electricity consumption.
In order to meet the criteria for the 100% Green Power Partnership program, Mountain View Grand is buying 100% NewMix Wind Green-e Energy certified renewable energy certificates from Constellation NewEnergy Inc.
