Missouri PSC Selects APX Renewable Energy Market Infrastructure

0

The Missouri Public Service Commission (PSC) has selected Hoboken, N.J.-based APX Inc.'s North American Registry as the renewable energy certificate (REC) management system for Missouri renewable portfolio standard (RPS) compliance.

The system will allow for origination, certification, tracking, transfer and retirement of RECs. The first compliance year is 2011, and Missouri market participants can register now at narenewables.apx.com.

‘With the increasing focus on renewable energy programs both here and abroad, market infrastructure solutions that enable transparent REC transactions are increasingly in demand,’ says Lars Kvale, manager of APX's renewable energy market infrastructure business.

The RPS requires that the Missouri PSC, in consultation with the Missouri Department of Natural Resources, select a program for tracking and verifying the trading of RECs. The staff of the Missouri PSC will be working with APX to implement the REC management system, including scheduling training for potential system users.
