MidAmerican Wind, a subsidiary of MidAmerican Renewables, has completed the 81 MW Bishop Hill II wind project, located in Henry County, Ill.
According to MidAmerican, Ameren Illinois has agreed to buy the project's output via a 20-year power purchase agreement.
The wind farm, which features 50 GE 1.62 MW wind turbines, is part of MidAmerican Wind's portfolio, which includes the 168 MW Pinyon Pines Wind I and 132 MW Pinyon Pines Wind II projects, formerly known as Alta Wind VII and Alta Wind IX, which are located near Tehachapi, Calif., the company notes.
Des Moines, Iowa-based MidAmerican Renewables, a subsidiary of MidAmerican Energy Holdings Company, owns and operates wind, geothermal, solar and hydro projects in the unregulated renewables market.
