Massachusetts Government Launches New Renewable Energy Program

The Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (MassDEP) and the Department of Energy Resources (DOER) have launched what they call their Clean Energy Results Program (CERP), a new initiative designed to encourage the use of renewable energy and energy efficiency.

CERP will further encourage the development of clean energy projects in Massachusetts by focusing the scientific expertise of MassDEP and DOER in an effort to streamline the technical and regulatory barriers and siting and permitting processes related to these projects.

‘This pioneering new program bolsters MassDEP's existing efforts to reduce barriers to clean energy development across the state, and streamlines agency assistance to clean energy developers, municipal officials and the public,’ says MassDEP Commissioner Kenneth Kimmell.
