Lethbridge College has set up a 22-meter wind turbine tower on its Alberta campus in order to offer better training opportunities for students enrolled in the college's wind turbine technician program.
The tower's design accommodates the different styles and makes of wind turbine units so that students can become familiar with the specifics of each brand. The tower, minus the turbine and blades, will allow students to practice ascents and descents – a key element in the training and vital for their future safety on the job.
