Last week, Kruger Energy held a dedication ceremony at its 100 MW wind farm in Monteregie, Quebec.

The project, which was commissioned in December 2012, consists of 44 2.3-MW wind turbines from Enercon. The machines are installed in five Monteregie municipalities, namely Saint-Isidore, Saint-Remi, Saint-Michel, Saint-Constant and Mercier. Hydro-Quebec Distribution is purchasing the project's output under a 20-year contract.

Kruger notes the Monteregie project represents more than C$300 million in investments, and the wind farm is the company's first in Quebec and its third in Canada.Â

The official ceremony was attended by Joseph Kruger II, chairman and CEO of Kruger Inc.; Gaetan Lelievre, minister for Regions and minister responsible for the Gaspesie-Iles-de-la-Madeleine region; several local elected officials; and local residents.
