Kruger Energy celebrated the official opening of the Kruger Energy Chatham wind farm in Chatham-Kent, Ontario. The 101.2 MW project, which required investments of approximately C$310 million, will receive a grant of up to C$31 million through Canada's ecoENERGY for Renewable Power program.
This is the second wind farm built by Kruger Energy in this municipality. Just like the Kruger Energy Port Alma project, which was completed in 2008, the Chatham project consists of 44 wind turbines.
The wind farms have a combined annual output of approximately 600 GWh, which is sold to the Ontario Power Authority under 20-year supply contracts.
