Ann Arbor, Mich.-based Kaydon Corp., a designer and manufacturer of electronics and energy products, plans to expand its investment in wind turbine manufacturing.
According to the company, this expansion phase will entail additional capital expenditures of approximately $25 million over the next 18 months. The goal is to meet wind turbine manufacturers' requirements for advanced custom bearing assemblies up to 11 feet in diameter for new, larger turbines up to 3 MW in capacity.
Kaydon's total investment in these expansion programs will be approximately $78 million when completed.
