Ontario, Canada-based Just Energy has signed a five-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with developer First Wind to purchase electricity, capacity and renewable energy certificates from its Lackawanna, N.Y.-based Steel Winds wind farm.
Under the agreement, Just Energy will purchase the entire output of capacity and renewable energy credits generated from First Wind's Steel Winds I wind energy project. In addition, Just Energy will bid and schedule the energy output from Steel Winds I into the New York Independent System Operator power market.
