Pipestone, Minn.-based Juhl Energy says it is part of a team that was awarded a $5.5 million contract to design and install a wind turbine on a U.S. army campus.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers selected Juhl, Aegis Renewable Energy and Icenogle Construction Management to develop, construct and install a 1.5 MW – 2 MW wind turbine located on the grounds of the Tooele Army Depot. The project is currently in the development stage and is scheduled to break ground in late 2014 or early 2015.

The Tooele Army Depot supports readiness through receipt, storage, issue, demilitarization and renovation of conventional ammunition for the Army, Air Force and Navy facilities in the western U.S. and much of the Pacific Rim.
