Amid rumors that turbine manufacturer Senvion is on the chopping block, Suzlon Energy dismissed the claim as ‘baseless’ and ‘speculative.’
According to a Bloomberg report, unnamed sources said that Suzlon is engaged in talks with potential buyers about selling Senvion, which could net the company about $2.5 billion. The company is seeking to emerge from a debt reorganization program by the end of March. The sources also note that Senvion has drawn interest from China as well as large buyout funds.
However, Suzlon Spokesman David Capparelli tells NAW, ‘The rumors of sale of Senvion are baseless and false and speculative in nature.’
