Jack Trice Stadium, which hosted a football game between Iowa State University and the University of Texas this weekend, was powered with 100% wind power through the purchase of Green-e-certified renewable energy certificates, according to the American Wind Energy Association.
In addition, Iowa State's College of Engineering, MidAmerican Energy, ITC Midwest and Siemens attended a pre-game ceremony, where they were recognized for their work in wind power.
The football game was the showcase event in an ongoing initiative entitled ‘Wind – Moving Iowa Forward,’ which educates the public about wind power, according to AWEA.
