Chicago-based Invenergy Wind, a developer and operator of utility-scale wind energy, has announced the successful closing of construction and term debt financing for its 99 MW Forward Energy wind farm in Dodge and Fond du Lac counties, Wis.
The Forward Energy project was the first wind project to be permitted through the State Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity permit process. The project is currently under construction and is expected to be completed in 2008.
Power will be sold under long-term contracts with Wisconsin Public Service, Wisconsin Power & Light, Madison Gas & Electric and Wisconsin Public Power.
Major equipment includes 66 GE 1.5 MW SLE wind turbines. White Construction will build foundations and erect the turbines, and Michels Corp. will manage the construction of the project. The wind farm will be operated by Invenergy.
