Chicago-headquartered Invenergy has announced the sale of its Corriegarth Wind Energy Center to Greencoat UK Wind PLC. The 69.5 MW facility is located approximately 31 kilometers southwest of Inverness in Scotland.
Financing for Corriegarth was completed in October 2015. The project, made up of 23 Enercon E82 wind turbines, was commissioned in April 2017.
Further, Invenergy says Corriegarth achieved renewable obligation certificates accreditation in September 2016 and has a 15-year power purchase agreement with a major U.K. utility.
“Corriegarth is our second operating wind farm in Scotland and is situated in an area with great wind resources,” says Invenergy’s president and chief operating officer, Jim Murphy. “We are proud of our development and construction of this project and pleased to transfer ownership to Greencoat, a company with a reputation of investing in successful renewable projects.”
