In a move that advances ING Group toward its goal of carbon neutrality by the end of the year, the global financial service provider has agreed to purchase 70 million kWh of clean energy from wind energy developer Community Energy Inc. The purchase is equal to 100% of the electricity used at ING locations throughout the U.S.
With this commitment, ING joins the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) Green Power Partnership 100% Club.
‘America is shifting to a 'green culture,' with more and more businesses understanding that environmental responsibility is everyone's responsibility,’ comments EPA Deputy Administrator Marcus Peacock. ‘EPA commends ING for making a long-term commitment to protecting the environment by purchasing green power.’
