Portland, Ore.-based Iberdrola Renewables Inc. has signed a contract for Snohomish County Public Utility District (PUD) to purchase wind energy from Iberdrola Renewables' newly constructed Hay Canyon Wind Project in Oregon.
‘This demonstrates our ongoing commitment to adding clean, renewable energy sources to our energy portfolio,’ said Snohomish County PUD General Manager Steve Klein. ‘With the addition of this latest wind project, in just two years, the PUD has gone from no wind resources to an energy portfolio with more than eight percent dedicated to this clean, renewable resource.’
The utility will receive all of the project's output. The installed capacity of the project is 100.8 MW. The long-term power contract was signed with wind developer Hay Canyon Wind LLC, a subsidiary of Iberdrola Renewables.
