Iberdrola Renewables has executed a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA) with M-S-R Public Power Agency for the entire output from its 50 MW Big Horn II Wind Project near Bickleton, Wash.
M-S-R Public Power Agency, a joint powers agency representing the Modesto Irrigation District, city of Santa Clara and city of Redding, will purchase the wind energy from Iberdrola Renewables for 25 years to help its members meet their renewable energy goals.
Construction of the Big Horn II project is expected to begin in spring 2010. Energy deliveries to M-S-R Public Power Agency are expected to start in December 2010. Power from Big Horn I and II will travel to M-S-R Public Power Agency members via the California-Oregon Transmission project, a venture initiated by M-S-R.
