Richardson, Texas-based Hill Country Wind Power LP (HCWP), a development and consulting company that specializes in the assessment and development of small- to mid-sized wind farms, has been retained by King County Wind Energy of King County, Texas, to develop a 150 MW wind energy project.
According to Hill Country CEO Jeffrey Mann, more than 17,000 acres have been identified for the project. The area has high average wind speeds, existing infrastructure and proximity to transmission lines.
HCWP has retained Wind Developers LLC of Dallas to act as its construction management team for this project. The new project is expected to be online by Dec. 31, 2010. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Hill Country currently has multiple leased wind energy project sites within Texas undergoing pre-assessment and evaluation for development.
