Sen. Barbara Boxer, D-Calif., chair of the Senate Committee on Environment & Public Works (EPW), has announced that hearings on the Clean Energy Jobs Bill will begin Oct. 27.
‘Members of the committee and their staff, along with the EPW Committee staff, have been working day and night since the bill was introduced, and we have made great progress on the Chairman's Mark for the Clean Energy Jobs and American Power Act,’ she stated.
‘Draft provisions have been sent to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for analysis,’ Boxer continued. ‘We expect the EPA's analysis to be completed in time for legislative hearings later this month.’
It is expected that Energy Secretary Steven Chu, Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar and Jon Wellinghoff, chairman of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, will provide testimony before the full committee.
