Great River Organic Milling, a provider of certified organic grains, flours and mixes based in Fountain City, Wis., has joined Green-e Marketplace by purchasing enough Green-e Energy certified renewable energy to meet 100% of the annual electricity needs of its entire operations.
‘Great River Organic Milling Company has been committed to sustainable practices for a quarter of a century,’ says Rick Halverson, president of Great River. ‘The purchase of renewable energy credits and membership in Green-e Marketplace is an extension of that commitment.
The company purchased 62 MWh of Green-e Energy certified renewable energy certificates from Ecoelectrons Renewable Energy. Through the Green-e Marketplace program, Great River Organic Milling can now display the Green-e logo to inform its customers that it purchased 100% Green-e Energy certified renewable energy.
