Natural Resources Canada has announced an investment of up to C$65 million over 10 years for two wind farms in Quebec's Gaspe region. This investment, through the ecoENERGY for Renewable Power program, will help to support the Carleton and L'Anse-a-Valleau wind farms, which are owned by Cartier Wind Energy Inc.
The L'Anse-a-Valleau wind farm consists of 67 turbines, and is capable of generating up to 100 MW of power. The Carleton wind farm consists of 73 turbines and is capable of producing 109.5 MW of power.
