New York-headquartered investment bank Goldman Sachs has made a significant investment in Nordic Windpower, a San Rafael, Calif.-based wind turbine manufacturer. The new money will enable Nordic to fulfill growing demand for wind turbines at a time when the industry faces persistent supply constraints, the company says.
‘Goldman Sachs has helped grow major wind energy companies such as Nordex and Horizon,’ notes Jim Walker, Nordic Windpower cofounder and president-elect of the American Wind Energy Association. ‘Its commitment and backing is a great endorsement of Nordic's technology and potential.’
The terms of the investment were not disclosed.
