GL Renewables Certification has started a project to evaluate the LMS SAMTECH software tool SAMCEF For Wind Turbines (S4WT).
The software provides an integrated solution simulating the complete dynamic behavior of wind turbines under realistic wind conditions. The objective of this project is to validate and certify S4WT for the computation of aero-elastic wind turbine design loads according to the certification standards of GL Renewables Certification, the company explains.
As an initial key element for wind turbine development and design, aero-elastic simulations provide the mechanical load assumptions on the different turbine components that can be expected during the turbine's lifetime.
