German Firm Sells Minority Interest In Offshore Wind Farm To Macquarie Subsidiary

EnBW Energie Baden-Wurttemberg AG has sold 49.89% of the 288 MW EnBW Baltic 2 offshore wind farm to Macquarie Capital, the principal investment arm of Macquarie Group.

According to EnBW, the $853.4 million deal is subject to antitrust approval, which it expects to receive this summer. EnBW also notes that it will take over responsibility for the management of the wind farm and the maintenance work.

EnBW Baltic 2 is being constructed north of the Baltic island of Rugen. The erection of the turbines is currently in full swing: 34 wind power turbines have already been installed. The full commissioning of EnBW Baltic 2 is scheduled for spring of this year.
