Turbine maker GE says that Swedish energy developer Triventus Wind Power AB will use its 2.75 MW turbines to power a wind farm near Falkenberg on Sweden's west coast.

According to GE, the 2.75 MW turbine is based on the 2.5 MW platform.

The company says the wind turbines will be delivered to the project site during the first quarter of 2013, with commercial operation slated for the second quarter of next year. GE Energy also will provide maintenance support under a five-year service agreement.

The Triventus project is located near two other wind farms that also are powered by GE's wind turbines, the company notes.
