GDF SUEZ Energy Resources NA says it will donate 2,000 renewable energy certificates (RECs) to the U.S. Tennis Association (USTA) to offset 100% of the projected energy consumption at the 2011 US Open.
The tournament will be held from Aug. 26 through Sept. 11 at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows – Corona Park in Flushing, N.Y.
