Gamesa is upgrading 19 wind turbines in the south of France for GDF SUEZ subsidiary La Compagnie du Vent.Â
As part of the contract, Gamesa will implement algorithm improvement software and install the Gamesa Premium Availability program in 14 wind turbines. The turbine manufacturer will also reinforce the frame on five 660 kW machines.
The company says its wind turbine life-extension program consists of a series of structural reforms and a monitoring system designed to prolong the useful lives of wind turbine generators beyond the original design specifications; therefore, enabling control over maintenance costs and streamlining the cost of energy.
