Gamesa To Supply - And Maintain - 50 MW In Uruguay Gamesa has signed a new contract with the Spanish developer Smartener for the supply of 50 MW at the Maldonado II wind farm, located in southeastern Uruguay.

Per the agreement, Gamesa will supply, install and commission 25 G114-2.0 MW turbines. The G114 is designed to yield more power at lower cost at low- and medium-speed wind sites.

Gamesa will also provide operation and maintenance services under a five-year agreement. Delivery of the turbines is expected to begin in November, and the wind farm's construction is slated for completion in the second quarter of 2016.

The turbine manufacturer has already installed 150 MW in Uruguay but particularly notes the G114's initial installation in the country.
