Gamesa has agreed to sell a 74 MW wind project to wind developer Grupo Mexico and, in the process, begin to consolidate its presence in Mexico.
The project, located in the state of Oaxaca, will be powered by 37 Gamesa G80-2.0 MW turbines. The facility, which was developed and built by Gamesa, was commissioned in the first quarter. Under the terms of the sale agreement, Gamesa will continue to operate and maintain the wind farm for the next five years.
As a wind farm developer, Gamesa has developed, built and commissioned more than 244 MW in Mexico and has an additional 70 MW under construction.
