U.S. customers represented 26.4% of Spanish wind turbine maker Gamesa's total orders for its new G97-2.0 MW turbines in the second half of this year, the company reports.
However, Europe accounted for the largest share of orders for the new turbine, at 40%, followed by China, at 28%.
Gamesa also notes that the G97-2.0 MW turbine allowed the company to enter into a new market – Canada, where it contracted to deliver 10 MW.
The G97-2.0 MW turbine is designed for low-wind sites and features a new aerodynamic blade tip design and the Gamesa NRS noise-control system, the company adds.
