Turbine maker Gamesa has posted yearly profit and revenue gains in its 2014 annual report.
According to Gamesa, net profit reached EUR 92 million for the year ended Dec. 31, more than doubling the EUR 45 million the company reported for 2013. It attributes the improvement to an increase in revenue and profitability. Revenue increased 22% to EUR 2.8 billion, which stems from an increase in demand for wind turbine generator manufacturing and operations and maintenance services.
According to contributions by country, Gamesa says its sales increases in Latin America, India, the U.S. and China buoyed top-line growth.
Gamesa's 2014 order intake of 3.3 GW – its largest in five years – ensures ‘notable activity in the coming years,’ the company notes.
As a result of its financial performance, Gamesa has upgraded its 2015 outlook and forecasted growth for the coming years.
