Gamesa has secured a pair of orders for wind farms in the India wind market.
The first order, from India developer and independent power producer Greenko, encompasses the supply, installation and commissioning of 80 of the company's G97-2.0 MW turbines. More specifically, Gamesa will install 30 turbines in the Jaisalmer region in the state of Rajasthan and another 50 in the Karnataka region. The turbines are slated for delivery during the first quarter. Commissioning is expected by June, notes Gamesa.
Additionally, India developer CLP India has placed an order for a 100 MW wind farm, which will be built in the state of Madhya Pradesh. The turbines are due for delivery during the first half of this year, notes Gamesa, adding that the wind farm will be completed in December.
Gamesa adds that the G97-2.0 MW Class S model – with a tower height of 104 meters – was specifically designed for low-wind-speed sites in India's market.
